UC Irvine returns home to host Cal State Fullerton Thursday (Oct. 11) and UC Riverside Saturday (Oct. 13). Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Bren Events Center.

THINK PINK THIS WEEK
Thursday's match is designated a Think Pink match. Fans can purchase a Think Pink ticket to receive an adidas climalite wristband and UC Irvine Think Pink bracelet. A  $2 portion of your ticket will be donated to the UCI Breast Health Center.
 
The UC Irvine Breast Health Center is one of only 20 accredited breast centers in California dedicated to the comprehensive care, multidisciplinary team approach to coordinating the best treatment options, and patient access to ongoing information about clinic trials and new treatment options.

UCI will honor special breast cancer survivors before the match.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Titans are 6-12 overall and 0-5 in the Big West.

CSF is looking to snap an 11-match losing streak.

The Highlanders are 6-10 on the year and 1-4 in league action.

UCR is coming off a 3-0 victory against Cal State Fullerton and will travel to UC Davis Thursday before visiting the Bren Center.

ABOUT THE ANTEATERS

UCI is 10-7 overall and 4-1 in Big West action.

The Anteaters have won seven of the last eight matches.

UCI is riding a three-match winning streak.

Last week, the Anteaters beat Long Beach State (3-1) and CSUN (3-0) on the road.

Outside hitter Loryn Carter leads UCI with a 2.95 kill average. The sophomore led the Anteaters in the win against Long Beach State with 13 kills.

Opposite Harlee Kekauoha is second on the team with a 2.56 kill average. The senior also averages 2.18 digs.

AKPAKPA DOMINATES IN THE MIDDLE
Senior Idara Akpakpa was named Big West Defensive Player of the Week after a dominating performance at the net. In the win against Long Beach State, the middle blocker recorded a career-best nine total blocks, including a career-high three solo blocks.

She also recorded the match-clinching kill against LBSU, one of 10 on the night where she hit .571 (10-2-14).

Against CSUN, Akpakpa hit .429 with eight kills and added three block assists and a dig.

For the week, she averaged 1.71 blocks and 2.57 kills while hitting .500 (18-4-28).

On the season, the senior is second in the Big West with 1.10 blocking average. She is also seventh in hitting percentage (.315).

SCOOPING UP DIGS
Senior Haley DeSales is fourth in the Big West with 4.66 digs per set. The libero has recorded digs in double-figures in all but one match this season.

IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Several Anteaters are moving up in the UCI career record book.

Senior Harlee Kekauoha is 10th in kills (1,154) and attack attempts (2,987). She is also third in service aces with 138 in 415 career sets.

Middle blocker Idara Akpakpa is 12th all-time with 240 block assists.

Setter Ali Koumelis is eighth in set assists with 1,933 as an Anteater.

M&M
Makayla Wolfe is second on the squad in blocking with a 0.89 average, while averaging 1.84 kills.

Abby Marjama is third on the team with a 2.39 kill average. She ranks 12th nationally in aces at 0.52.  

HOLDING DOWN THE BACKLINE
They don't get much attention, but defensive specialists Erin Alonso and Lauren Russ have locked down the Anteater defense.

Alonso is averaging 1.56 digs, while Russ owns a 1.16 dig mark.
