Jonathan Kang had a top-15 finish to lead the UC Irvine men's golf team on the final day of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational Saturday at Stockton Country Club.

The 'Eaters tied for 13th with a three-round score of 865. They were without their junior leader
Ramiz Jamal, who had to withdraw in yesterday's second round due to an injury.

Nevada ran away with the team title, shooting a tournament-best 262 over the final 18 holes to get to 38-under (814). BYU claimed runner-up honors with a score of 826. The Cougars' Peter Kuest was individual medalist with a 16-under 197 (66-67-64).

Kang recorded a 70 (-1) on Saturday, marking his third-straight round below par. He tied for 11th overall at 5-under 208 (69-69-70). Kang, who closed out the week with a team-high 14 birdies, earned his first top-20 showing of the season.

Matt Gunson (70-73-74) tied for 47th with a three-round total of 217 (+3). Junior
Chris Casey also tied for 74th at 6-over 223 (73-73-77).

This was UC Irvine's final fall tournament as it returns to action next year when it hosts the Anteater Invitational at Big Canyon Country Club, Feb. 11-12.
