The defender rejoins the squad to play Venezuela
MONTERREY, Mexico --- Anteater alum and former coach Janelly Farías has begun training with the Mexican National Team this week in preparation for its friendly on Saturday, June 10.
Farías is joined by 23 of her teammates where they have been training since June 3 at Mexico's High Performance Center in preparation for their friendly vs. Venezuela. She and the squad nearly qualified for the Olympics back in 2016, and since have played once vs. Canada back in February.
"Training has been intense and very productive. We have a mix of younger players and older (including myself), but we're understanding each other on and off the field," noted the veteran Farías. "It's a very positive environment, and I'm loving it. I'm exactly where I want to be. I'm excited for Saturday. It's what I train for."
The match is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time with coverage from the team's twitter account (@miseleccionmx) and on Televisa Deportes Network.
