"Well, I don't really have anything that would surprise all of you, to say that it was a great ball game. Hultzen was very good and pitched very effectively. This might be hard to believe by watching us tonight, but part of our story this season is that we played very consistently well on defense and at times have played highlight reel defense. So, this was very atypical of us on defense. To their credit, when they got an extra out or two extra outs, they got clutch hits.

"Tonight's ballgame was honestly really important for us to win and play well. All game long we played a good solid fundamental baseball game. It took us five innings to figure Bergman out. Hultzen was terrific tonight. It was one of his better outings all year. He pitched out of some jams and really stepped up."
"This regional is right now showing that it is a pitching and defense regional. Maybe it is something to do with the ballpark or maybe the quality of arms that are in this tournament."

"I felt very good. I knew if I could get out of some jams and not throw many pitches I could go deep into the game. The double play got us out of jams and gave us a lot of momentum."
