2017 Tennis Court Renovation

Anteater Tennis Stadium Renovations Underway

IRVINE, Calif. - Anteater Tennis Stadium, home of the UC Irvine men's and women's tennis teams, is currently undergoing renovations that will enhance both the student-athlete and fan experience.

The $650,000 project will feature eight refurbished championship courts, new LED lights, new fencing and windscreens, and a shade structure for the spectator seating area.

"We can't wait to start the season and show off our newly renovated facility," UCI women's tennis interim head coach Elizabeth Ferris said. "The new renovations will be more fan-friendly and visually appealing, making this one of the nicest facilities around."

The slab for the new courts is being placed this week. Installation of the fencing and windscreens will also begin later this month, while the new courts will be surfaced in July. The shade canopy for the fans is the final piece to the renovation and is scheduled to go up after the Los Angeles Rams conclude their training camp.

"The tennis facility renovation will make UCI the most player and spectator friendly facility in the Big West Conference," UC Irvine men's tennis head coach Mike Saunders added.

Fans can keep up to date on the progress of the tennis courts through UCI Athletics Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
