IRVINE, Calif. – Kaley In and Avery French earned second team All-Big West Conference honors, while Janet Yeo was an honorable mention selection the Big West Conference announced Tuesday.
In led the Anteaters with a 74.62 scoring average over 26 rounds. She had three top 10 finishes this year, including a team-best sixth place finish at the Big West Championships (221). She had a season-low 69 on the second round of the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic, where she placed seventh (217). In also posted three more top 20 finishes this season. This is In's third All-Big West honor also earning second team in 2013 and honorable mention in 2014.
French owned a 75.31 scoring average in her first year as an Anteater. The graduate student posted four top 10 finishes, including a third place performance at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic (212). She recorded a career-best 68 on the final round of that tournament, the best score for an Anteater since 2009. French had back-to-back rounds of 69 to finish in a tie for sixth place (138) at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in the fall.
Yeo joined the Anteaters in January and made an immediate impact. She ended the year with three straight top 10 finishes, including leading UCI to the team title at the Wyoming Cowgirl Invitational with a third place finish (214) with a career-low 68 on the second round. Over 15 rounds, the sophomore has a 74.87 average.
