UC Irvine Heads To Big West Championships

UCI will compete in the Big West Championships Sunday-Tuesday (Apr. 23-25) at the Oak Quarry Golf Club in Riverside, Calif.
The conference championship is a three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes played each day.
Oak Quarry is a par-72 course, playing at 6,012 yards.
UCI will tee off between 8:15 a.m. and 8:51 on Sunday.
The Anteater lineup will feature Janet Yeo, Kaley In, Avery French, Breanne Jones, Sabrina Li.
Along with UCI, UC Riverside, Hawaii, UC Davis, Cal Poly, Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton and CSUN will battle for the conference title.
This will be the second time the Anteaters have played at Oak Quarry this season, finishing in a tie for seventh at the Battle at the Rock in February. French led UCI with a sixth place finish.
UCI has won five Big West Championships (2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2002).
Three Anteaters (Stella Lee '02, Selanee' Henderson '06, Kim Lorenzana '08) have captured the individual crown at the Championships.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE
UCI is coming off a tournament title at the Wyoming Cowgirl Invitational. The Anteaters claimed top honors with a 54-hole total of 874 (296-290-288) at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
The three round score of 874 was a season-best as was the final round of 288.
It is the 17th tournament win in program history and the first since the Anteaters won the Fresno State Lexus Classic at the Copper River Country Club on Feb. 24, 2009.
Three Anteaters placed in the top 10 paced by Janet Yeo's third place finish. She recorded her career-best finish with a round score 214 (75-68-71).
Yeo's 68 was the low round of the tournament and is tied for eighth in the UCI record books.
Kaley In posted her best finish of the year with a sixth place performance. She shot a one-under par over the final two rounds to finish at 219 (76-71-72).
Avery French posted her fourth top 10 finish of the season, placing 10th with a score of 221 (73-77-71).
In leads the team in scoring average at 74.74 over 23 rounds followed by Janet Yeo at 74.92 and Avery French at 74.92.
