UC Irvine Finishes 7th at Del Walker

LONG BEACH, Calif. --- UC Irvine tied for seventh place in the Del Walker Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.
The Anteaters ended in a three-way tie with Utah State and Loyola Marymount with 54-hole totals of 876. Boise State captured the team title with a three-round score of 855, Cal Poly was second at 859 and Pacific was third at 865.
David Kim shot a 72 in the final round to lead UCI with a ninth-place finish of 213 for his fifth top-10 showing of the season.
Jonathan Young carded a 76 over the last round to place 31st at 220, Chris Parkinson (74) was 34th at 221, Ryan O'Connor (76) finished 38th at 222 and Jefferson Kao (80) was 66th at 230.
Johnny Hyun, competing as an individual, shot 72 in the final round to tie for 38th place at 222.
Brian Humphreys of Boise State was medalist at 1-under 209 after shooting a 71 in the final round.
UCI returns to action Monday and Tuesday (March 6-7) in the Sacramento State Invitational at the Valley Hi Country Club in Elk Grove, Calif.
