RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. --- Second-round play was suspended due to darkness Monday in the PRO Compression Invitational at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.

UC Irvine was in ninth place after the completed first round with a total of 300.  UC Santa Barbara was in first at 279 while Loyola Marymount and Wichita State were tied for second at 286.

Sophomore Chris Parkinson led UCI in the opening round with a 74 for 23rd place.

Junior David Kim and Jonathan Young each shot 75 for 26th place, junior Ryan O'Connor was in 33rd after a 76 and junior Johnny Hyun was 50th following a 79 in the first round.

Yannick Emmert of Wichita State was the individual leader after shooting a 9-under 63 in the opening round.

Second-round play is scheduled to resume at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday immediately followed by the final round.
