Anteaters Tabbed Third In Big West Preseason Poll

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine was picked to finish third in the inaugural Big West preseason poll as selected by the six head coaches.
The Anteaters were tied with CSUN for third place with 21 points, following Long Beach State who garnered four first place votes and 34 points and Hawaii with two first place nods and 32 points. UC Santa Barbara came in fifth (10) and UC San Diego sixth (8).
UCI, who was ranked No. 7 in the AVCA preseason poll, opens the regular season against Lewis on Jan. 5 and begins the inaugural season of the Big West Conference at Hawaii on Feb. 23. Fans can see the Anteaters for the first time at home on Jan. 12 against USC.
