Defensive Effort Earns Makayla Wolfe Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week

IRVINE, Calif. – Women's volleyball player Makayla Wolfe has been named this week's Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week following her strong defensive performance against UC Santa Barbara.
Wolfe's notable week included being named Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week. In doing so, she became the first Big West player to earn both awards in the same week.
With a career-high 16 kills as well as a season-high seven blocks, Wolfe helped lead the Anteaters over UC Santa Barbara 3-1. This victory leads UCI to their first postseason appearance since 2004.
In addition to Wolfe's solid defensive work, she also hit at .536 to help propel UCI to achieve their 22nd win making it the most since 2009.
