TULSA, Okla. - The UC Irvine men's tennis team saw its run at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships come to an end Tuesday in Tulsa, Okla.
 
After winning his first round match yesterday, senior and 114th-ranked Sebastian Heim advanced to face No. 75 Logan Staggs of UCLA in Tuesday's qualifying Round of 64. Heim put up a fight, but was unable to pull off the upset, dropping a 6-1, 6-4 decision.
 
"Sebastian was close to clawing his way back into the match in the second set, but just couldn't turn the corner," UCI head coach Mike Saunders said. "Staggs played very offensive and only made a handful of errors. His 1-2 punch was on and didn't give Sebastian much to work with in the first. Sebastian will bounce back strong and get ready for regionals."
 
In the ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying singles draw (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), both Luis Lopez and Luca Marquard went 2-1, reaching the Round of 64.
 
The Anteaters will continue their fall tournament season this weekend at the San Diego State Invitational, Oct. 6-8.
