UCI kicks off a busy week, hosting league-leading Cal Poly Tuesday (Oct. 24) at the Bren Events Center at 7:00 p.m.
Following the match with the Mustangs, UCI will travel to CSUN Friday (Oct. 27) at the Matadome and then Long Beach State Saturday (Oct. 28) at the Walter Pyramid. First serve for both matches begins at 7:00 p.m.
A LOOK AT TUESDAY'S MATCH-UP
UCI is 18-2 overall and 6-1 in the Big West, the best start in program history.
Cal Poly is 19-2 overall and a perfect 9-0 in the Big West. The Mustangs are off to their best start in 32 years.
UCI has won six straight, dropping their lone conference loss at Hawaii in the Big West opener. The six match winning streak matches the longest of the season.
The Mustangs are riding a 14-match winning streak, suffering their only two losses of the year to No. 8 Washington (3-0) and No. 14 Oregon (3-0) in the first week of September.
Cal Poly entered the national poll on Oct. 9th and are ranked No. 23 for the second consecutive week.
UCI enters the week No. 13 in the VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll, while the Mustangs are third.
The Anteaters lead the Big West in aces (1.67) and are ranked second in kills (13.74), assists (12.79), hitting percentage (0.255) and opponents hitting percentage (0.177).
The Mustangs top the league in hitting percentage (.317), kills (15.26) and assists (14.17).
UCI trails Cal Poly 43-23 in the series records all-time, dropping the last four meetings against the Mustangs.
UCI and Cal Poly are the only two team's with a 1-2 punch, placing two players in the league's top 10 in kill average.
UCI's Haley DeSales leads the team in kill average (3.46) and is sixth in the Big West, while Harlee Kekauoha is seventh at 3.39.
Cal Poly's Torrey Van Winden is second (4.75) with sisiter Adlee Van Winden being fifth (3.64) in kills.

UCI's 18 wins are tied for fifth most in program history.
The 18 wins are the most wins since 2009 when the club was 22-8. The school record is 24 in 2003, when head coach Ashlie Hain was a player.
The Anteaters are undefeated at home this year at 8-0.
UCI is ranked 10th nationally in winning percentage (0.900). Only 13 teams in the country have two or fewer losses.
UCI leads the conference and is ranked 17th in the country in aces with a 1.67 mark. Six different Anteaters have recorded aces in double-figures. UCI has fired 120 aces overall.
Junior Harlee Kekauoha leads the Big West with a 0.43 ace average and is ranked 28th nationally. She is eighth all-time in UCI career aces with 113. The junior is seventh in the Big West in hitting percentage at .296.
Junior outside hitter Haley DeSales leads the team in kills average (3.46) after a match-high 19 kills in the 3-1 win over UC Davis last Saturday. The junior is also averaging 0.36 aces, which is fifth best in the league and is second on the team in digs with a 2.51 mark.
In the middle, junior Idara Akpakpa leads the team in hitting percentage (.377), good for third amongst Big West players and is third on the team in kills (2.40) and second in blocks (0.60). Sophomore Makayla Wolfe leads the Anteaters with a 0.81 blocking average and is sixth in the conference in league-only blocking with a 1.05 mark. She had a season-high five block assists against the Aggies last week.
Libero Luna Tsujimoto has recorded double-digit digs in all but one match this year and is third in the Big West with a 4.19 average.
Setter Ali Koumelis is second in the league in set assists at 10.29. She also averages 2.29 digs and has 15 aces.
Rounding out the pin-hitters is senior Brianna Montgomery who is averaging 1.44 kills and 1.43 digs per set.
