NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- UC Irvine was clicking on all cylinders for most of the evening as the Anteaters rolled past CSUN, 105-73, in a Big West Conference game at Northridge Saturday night.
With the victory, UCI (13-9, 6-0) remains undefeated in the Big West at 6-0 and ran its winning streak to eight games overall, the program's longest in 11 years since a similar run in January 2006.
Jaron Martin, Max Hazzard and Ioannis Dimakopoulos combined for 67 points, shooting a collective 25 of 36 from the field.
Martin scored 26 points, including 18 in the second half, and added a career-high seven assists.
Hazzard scored a career-high 22 points, with 19 of those coming in the first half. He was 8 of 13 from the field, including 5 of 8 from three-point range.
Dimakopoulos scored 19 points for the third consecutive game, connecting on 8 of 9 shots. He also registered six boards and three blocked shots.
Eyassu Worku scored eight points off the bench and equaled his career best with six assists.
Tommy Rutherford scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds while Jonathan Galloway hauled down 12 boards and recorded a pair of rejections.
Brandon Smith had a career-high three blocked shots and scored six points.
Kendall Smith and Rakim Lubin led the Matadors (7-12, 3-3) with 13 points each.
The Anteaters, who led wire-to-wire, put up 58 points in the opening 20 minutes to take a 58-30 halftime lead.
UCI never decelerated in the second half, leading by at least 20 points throughout the final 20 minutes.
The 'Eaters shot 53.6 percent from the field and hit 12 of 21 threes. CSUN hit 30.3 percent of its shots as UCI has won 66 of its last 73 games when holding the opposition to under 40 percent.
UCI had a 54-31 rebounding advantage, tying this season's single-game high for boards. The Anteaters outscored the Matadors in the paint, 40-28.
Coach Russell Turner's squad hosts Cal Poly Thursday night at 7:00 before traveling to UC Davis next Saturday for a 5:00 p.m. game.
