● UC Irvine (7-5) is on the road Saturday to take on top-ranked UCLA at 12:00 p.m. The Bruins, 15-0 on the season, have won 48 straight games.
● UCI went 2-2 at the Mountain Pacific Invitational in Northern California this past weekend, registering wins over San Jose State (12-7) and Santa Clara (10-6).
● Junior goalie Matej Matijevic had 61 saves in the four games and has 170 for the season in 12 starts.
● Junior Ryan Warde and freshmen Bryant Joudrie and Ian Fleenor scored seven goals each on the weekend.
● Sophomore Jack Trush, who scored six goals, including a career-high five against Pomona-Pitzer last Saturday, leads the Anteaters with 25 on the season. Warde follows with 17 and Fleenor and Joudrie have 16 apiece.
● Seven players are sitting out as redshirts with Coach Marc Hunt's UCI program this season, including seniors Lovre Milos and Kyle Trush, who led the Anteaters in scoring last season with 60 and 46 goals, respectively. Both earned All-America honorable mention honors a year ago.
● Other redshirts this season are seniors Brendan Duffy and Antoine Lena, juniors Miles Kalbus and Byron Rivers, and senior Robby Stiefel, a transfer from Air Force where he was a 2014 All-America honorable mention selection.
● Following Saturday's game, the 'Eaters begin a homestand Oct. 9 against USC at 1:00 p.m. UCI plays its first game in the Golden Coast Conference Oct. 14, facing Pacific at 7:00 p.m. at the Anteater Aquatics Complex.
