● Eighth-ranked UC Irvine (5-2) hosts No. 16 California Baptist Wednesday night before journeying to Northern California for the Mountain Pacific Invitational, hosted by Cal, Friday through Sunday.
● Coach Marc Hunt's Anteaters face Pepperdine Friday at 2:25 p.m. at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek in their first game of the invitational.
● Saturday will feature two games in the 16-team invitational with one game on Sunday. Games will be played at Spieker Aquatics Complex on the Cal campus and at Northgate High in Walnut Creek.
● UCI carries a four-game winning streak into Wednesday night's home contest versus California Baptist. The Anteaters topped Concordia, 13-3, and Loyola Marymount, 9-7, last week.
● Sophomore Jack Trush scored three goals in each of last week's victories and he leads the 'Eaters with 19 on the season.
● Freshman Bryant Joudrie follows with eight goals for the year, junior Ryan Warde has seven and freshman Ian Fleenor six. Freshman Jon Polos and junior Christian Macias have scored five goals apiece.
● Junior Matej Matijevic had 26 saves in the two wins last week and has 98 on the season.
● Following this week's games, UCI will return to action Oct. 1 at UCLA for a non-conference contest at 12:00 p.m.
