UC Irvine Concludes Big West Championships In Eighth Place

Kapalua, Hawaii – UC Irvine finished the three-day Big West Championship held at the Kapalua Bay Course in eighth place.
The Anteaters had their best day, carding a 317, an 18-shot improvement over the previous round and finished in eighth with a 56-hole score of 981 (329-335-317). UC Riverside snapped UC Davis' string of six consecutive titles winning the team competition with a scoring of 914 (308-310-296). Paige Lee of UC Davis was the individual championship by one stroke with a total of 220 (72-77-71).
Sophomore Breanne Jones shot an 80 on all three rounds and finished in a team-best 26th place (240). Sophomore Camille Wagg had UCI's best round of the tournament, firing a 76 Tuesday and was tied for 30th at 244 (82-86-76). Junior Samantha Chan was 35th with a score of 247 (81-87-79), while senior Kristin Henno was 36th with a three-day total of 250 (86-82-82). Sophomore Kelsey Kawaguchi played 14 holes before withdrawing again due to an injury.
