UCI Concludes Friday Action at Texas Relays

 

AUSTIN, Texas --- Junior Megan George led UC Irvine Friday at the 89th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.

George finished fourth in her heat and 15th overall in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.76 seconds in the meet that experienced several weather delays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Paige Bushnell placed 47th overall in 14.71 and Megan Benson was 61st in 15.59.  The top nine in the prelims advanced to the final.

Taisyn Crutchfield won her heat and finished 34th overall in the 100-meter prelims with a time of 12.22.

Barbara Coward is scheduled to compete in the discus throw Saturday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. (PT).

At the UCLA Legends of Track & Field Invitational Friday night, Megan Mirkhanian finished fifth in the 5,000 meters in 17:58.16, Courtney Sharar was 11th in 18:24.09 and Marthie Ponty 14th in 18:58.98.

Rebecca Garcia placed eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:01.98 to improve on her No. 4 time in UCI history, and in the hammer throw, Bridget Devaney was 10th at 166-0 and Dazhana Bauer-Jackson 12th at 163-4.

The Anteaters have competitorsonce again at the UCLA Legends of Track & Field Invitational on Saturday.
