Irvine, Calif. – UC Irvine was back at home to host No. 56 Hawai'i but fell to the Rainbow Wahine 4-0.
The doubles point came down to the No. 2 spot as Hawai'i took a set in the No. 3 spot 6-2 and UCI's Sarah Gong and Stephanie Hazell took the No.1 doubles spot 6-2. No. 2 doubles pair Andrea Duva and Vivien Dvali had the lead but Hawai'i was able to tie it up at 5-5 and win the next two games to win the set 7-5 taking the doubles point for the Rainbow Wahine.
The Anteaters were swept in singles with Hawai'i clinching the fourth point when Hazell lost after a tough battle against Klara Pribylova 7-5, 6-3. Strong matches at Nos. 1, 2 and 6 would remain unfinished.
UC Irvine hosts Portland Sunday (Mar.6) at 11:00 a.m. at the Anteater Tennis Stadium.
