First Round in the Books at Makai Invitational

PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i, Hawai'i --- UC Irvine shot 302 in the first round and is tied for 16th place after 18 holes at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawai'i.
The Anteaters are tied with Idaho as Mississippi leads the tournament at 277. Georgia Southern is second at 282 and Missouri third at 283.
Juniors Jonathan Young and Ryan O'Connor led UCI Sunday with 3-over rounds of 75 to tie for 53rd place at the Makai Golf Club at Princeville.
Junior David Kim, sophomore Ramiz Jamal and freshman Jonathan Kang are tied for 67th at 76.
Mateusz Gradecki of East Tennessee State is the individual leader after shooting a 7-under 65 in the opening round.
The second round is scheduled for Monday with the final round on Tuesday.
