UC Irvine in Sixth After Two Rounds in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. --- UC Irvine is in sixth place after Monday's two rounds at the Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno.
The Anteaters shot 577 Monday, including a field-best, 2-under total of 282 in the second round at the San Joaquin Country Club.
UCI is just five shots out of the lead as Saint Mary's and BYU lead with scores of 572. Host Fresno State is in third at 573.
Junior Jonathan Young led the 'Eaters with a 2-under total of 140 Monday, including a 3-under 68 in the second round. He is in fourth place and only one shot out of the lead currently held at 139 by Perry Cohen of Saint Mary's, Justin De Los Santos from Cal Poly and UC Riverside's Matt Lutz.
Anteater junior David Kim is in 10th place at 143 (73-70), Ramiz Jamal is 16th at 145 (73-72), Ryan O'Connor is 46th at 149 (77-72) and Chris Parkinson is 62nd at 152 (77-75).
Freshman Jonathan Kang, competing individually, is in 71st place at 154 (79-75).
The final round is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.
