● UC Irvine has a busy week with three games, beginning at home Tuesday night against Chapman University in a non-conference contest.
● The 'Eaters return to Golden Coast Conference action Friday night on the road against San Jose State in a game that will be played at West Valley College in Saratoga. UCI travels to La Jolla Sunday to take on UC San Diego in a 12 noon, non-conference contest.
● UCI is coming off a 17-5 loss to fourth-ranked Pacific last Friday evening in the Anteaters' initial game in the Golden Coast Conference. Freshman Foster Hoose led the team with two goals.
● Sophomore Jack Trush leads the 'Eaters in scoring with 27 goals, followed by junior Ryan Warde with 19. Freshman Bryant Joudrie has scored 17 goals, freshman Ian Fleenor 16, freshman Jon Polos 10, junior Christian Macias five and Hoose has four goals.
● Junior goalie Matej Matijevic has 200 saves in 15 starts this season.
● Seven players are sitting out as redshirts with Coach Marc Hunt's UCI program this season, including seniors Lovre Milos and Kyle Trush, who led the Anteaters in scoring last season with 60 and 46 goals, respectively. Both earned All-America honorable mention honors a year ago.
● Other redshirts this season are seniors Brendan Duffy and Antoine Lena, juniors Miles Kalbus and Byron Rivers, and senior Robby Stiefel, a transfer from Air Force where he was a 2014 All-America honorable mention selection.
● Following this week's action, UCI will host UC Santa Barbara in a GCC game Oct. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
