THIS WEEK
● Eighth-ranked UC Irvine, 7-2 on the season, opens its 2015 home schedule this week, hosting UC San Diego in a non-conference game Thursday night and Long Beach State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation contest Saturday at noon. The "Black & Blue" match-up against LBSU will be the MPSF opener for UCI.
● Coach Marc Hunt's 'Eaters have been idle from competition since finishing seventh in the NorCal Invitational at Stanford Sept. 19-20. UCI opened that weekend with a 14-6 win over Princeton, fell to USC, 12-4, and to Long Beach State, 12-11 in sudden-death overtime, before topping Pepperdine, 12-9, in the seventh-place game.
BY THE NUMBERS
● Junior Kyle Trush leads the 'Eaters' balanced scoring attack with 18 goals and he ranks eighth in the MPSF with an average of 2.00 goals per game.
● Junior Lovre Milos has 17 goals and is 13th in the MPSF with a 1.89 scoring average.
● Seniors Pablo Carballo and Jared Osborn follow with 15 and 14 goals, respectively.
● Sophomore Matt Skinner has scored 11 goals while junior Antoine Lena and freshman Jack Trush have 10 apiece.
● Senior goalkeeper Dylan Peterson has 113 saves this season and leads the MPSF with an average of 14.18 saves per game.
ON THE HORIZON
● Following this week's action, UCI competes in the SoCal Tournament at Malibu Oct. 10-11.
