
Jake Williams Leads UCI at Mustang Challenge

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Jake Williams was the top UC Irvine runner Saturday in the Mustang Challenge at Central Park in Santa Clarita.
Williams finished 78th of 217 runners with a time of 27:08.13 over the 8,000-meter course. Jonathan Rodriguez placed 92nd in 27:20.07, Eric Enriquez was 119th (27:45.53), Alex Hascall 127th (28:02.70) and Andrew Graciano 134th (28:14.17).
Myles Smith of UCLA was the individual winner in 25:00.68 as the Bruins also won the team title with 38 points.
Loyola Marymount finished second with 69 points, Cal State San Marcos was third with 70 and UCI placed 15th with 418.
The 'Eaters compete in the 42nd Stanford Invitational next Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course.
