Cameron Vaca Places 6th in 400 Hurdles Heat

 

AUSTIN, Texas --- UC Irvine's Cameron Vaca placed sixth in his heat of the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas, Thursday.

The Anteater junior had a time of 53.30 seconds in the first round and did not qualify for Friday's quarterfinal round.  Vaca, who finished 39th overall of 47 entrants, was second in the event at this year's Big West Conference Championships.

Two others from UCI are scheduled for action Friday, as sophomore Lloyd Sicard competes in the first round of the 110-meter hurdles at 3:30 p.m. (PT) and senior Mason Miller in the shot put at 4:00 p.m. at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
