
Four Anteaters Honored As All-America By Volleyball Magazine

Irvine, Calif. -- Michael Brinkley and Zack La Cavera were named Volleyball magazine first team All-Americans, while Tamir Hershko and Jason Agopian were selected to the second team.
Brinkley, who was unanimously named the top libero in the nation this year by the All-American voters, ended his career second on the UCI all-time list with 1,099 digs. The three-time AVCA All-America averaged 2.95 digs per set, which led the MPSF and was fourth best in the nation.
Zack La Cavera, the 2015 MPSF Player of the Year, took 993 swings this season and led the conference in kills (468), points (565.0), and aces (44), while hitting .339. He recorded a career-high 26 kills in the MPSF final versus Pepperdine.
Hershko was second on the team with a 3.56 kill and 4.14 point average. The sophomore owned a .348 hitting percentage which ranks second among outside hitters in the MPSF.
Agopian hit .426 against MPSF Opponents which ranked second in the league and hit .402 overall. He topped the squad in blocks with a 0.95 mark, while averaging 1.73 kills per set.
Head coach David Kniffin was also honored under the third team after guiding the Anteaters to a 28-5 record and the program's sixth NCAA appearance.
