No. 5 Anteaters Snare No. 13 Lions with Defense

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- No. 5 UCI got goals from 10 different Anteaters in stifling No. 13 Loyola Marymount, 11-2, Saturday at the Burns Center.

UC Irvine (13-6) rode its defense once again by shutting out LMU (13-6) through the entire first half and take a 7-0 lead.

The 'Eaters built their lead to 8-0 from the 'Eaters' only multi-goal scorer, Cambria Shockley, before finally letting an LMU goal by with 3:26 left in the third period.

Jillian Yocum stopped five shots in three periods along with her defense holding the Lions to two goals. Kelli Baumgardner got in the action with her first Anteater goal.

The 'Eaters take a little break before Big West play begins on Sat. Mar. 28 with a trip to UC Santa Barbara.
