No. 6 Anteaters Turn Back No. 12 Tritons, 10-7

LA JOLLA, Calif. --- No  6 UC Irvine fought off a tough No  12 UC San Diego squad to reach the semifinals of the UCSD Triton Invite with a 10-7 win Saturday evening.

The Anteaters (4-2) and Tritons (3-3) were tied at 2-2 after one before UCI went on a four-goal run. The Tritons battled back to make it a two-goal deficit by halftime and eventually drew even midway through the third.

Mary Brooks buried her third of four goals on the match in the claiming seconds of the period, and the 'Eaters never looked back scoring the only two goals of the fourth period to finish the match with the 10-7 win.

The 'Eaters will take on No. 5 Arizona State Sunday, Feb. 8, at 12:30 p.m. for a spot in the championship match.
