TRIO TO BE HONORED ON SENIOR DAY
- Sydney Wright, an academic senior, Marisa Bubica and Ella Rosenfeld will take center court Tuesday to be recognized for their contributions to the women's volleyball program.
- Wright will graduate with degrees in anthropology and political science.
- Bubica will receive degrees in sociology and anthropology while Rosenfeld will complete a journalism degree with minors in international studies and political science.
ANDERSON MOVES TO THIRD IN RECORDS
- Shelley Anderson averaged 10.00 assists and handed out 80 assists last week to move to third in the UCI record books.
- Anderson passes Teri Zartman, who held the No. 3 spot since 2000 after finishing a four-year career with 2,986 assists.
- The junior now sits behind Taryn Robertson, who was a 2008 All-West Region honoree and totaled 4,900 assists from 2006-09.
- Anderson recorded a double-double in the effort against UC Davis, handing out 50 assists and tying a season-high 12 digs.
- Anderson also was five for eight in attempts to hit .625.
- She is fourth in the Big West Conference with a 9.39 assist average.
ROSENFELD REACHES TOP 10
- Rosenfeld led UCI with eight blocks last week, totaling a pair of solo blocks and eight block assist.
- With the performance, Rosenfeld is now 10th in the UCI record books with 250 block assists to share the spot with Arielle Manz, who logged her total from 2009-14.
- Rosenfeld leads the offense with a .331 hitting percentage and is fourth in the conference.
- She put away 11 kills against UC Davis with two errors in 25 attempts to hit .360.
- CAREER-HIGH FOR BUBICA
- Marisa Bubica notched her first double-double this season after posting 11 kills and a personal-best 15 digs.
- The outside hitter also had three block assists in two contests last week.
- Bubica is second on the team with a 2.90 kill average and has 148 kills in 51 sets.
PERSONAL-BESTS FOR DENNIS
- Victoria Dennis stepped up against eight-ranked Hawai'i, with a career-high .429 hitting percentage.
- The outside hitter had eight kills in 14 swings with two errors for the personal-best.
- She also had four digs against the Aggies for a career-high.
- Dennis chipped in eight kills against UC Davis and tied a career-high with five block assists.
- Dennis is ninth in the Big West with a 2.85 kill average.
- She is second on the team with 276 kills and third with 54 total blocks.
- The 6-3 talent paces the Anteaters with 16 solo blocks.
TSUJIMOTO HAS EIGHTH 20-DIG MATCH
- Sophomore Luna Tsujimoto led all players with 22 digs last week against the Aggies.
- The effort led the Anteaters to a single-match high this year of 80 digs with four players reaching double-figures for UCI.
- The libero has recorded 20 or more digs eight times this year.
- Tsujimoto also scooped up 15 digs against Hawai'i and she is fourth in the Big West with a 4.04 dig average.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR KEKAUOHA
- Harlee Kekauoha had a double-double against UC Davis, her seventh of the year.
- Kekauoha knocked down a team-high 15 kills and tied a personal-high with 15 digs.
- The freshman also fired an ace in each match last week and has registered a service winner in eight of the last nine matches.
- The opposite is ranked sixth in the Big West Conference in kills (3.33), fourth in aces (.31) and ninth in hitting percentage (.304).
- She led the way with 26 kills in two matches last week, knocking down 3.25 per set.
- Kekauoha is second on the team with 199 digs and tops the Anteaters with 31 aces.
ABOUT THE GAUCHOS
- UC Santa Barbara is 7-19 overall and 3-12 in conference action.
- The Gauchos, eighth in the Big West, suffered a pair of losses last week against UC Riverside and Hawai'i.
- The team is led by Ali Barbeau's 239 kills and 2.69 average.
- Phoebe Grunt is third in the conference with a .336 hitting percentage and is the team leader in blocks with 92 and a .96 average.
- Emilia Petrachi is second among the Big West leaders with a 4.67 dig average.
- UCI grabbed a 3-1 win over the Gauchos at the Thunderdome earlier this season to improve to 11-68 in the series records.
