UC Irvine Dropped by Stanford at MPSF Tournament

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- UC Irvine fell behind 5-0 after one quarter and never recovered in a 17-6 loss to Stanford in the fifth-place game of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament at USC Sunday.

Stanford (22-8) led 8-2 at halftime and 14-4 following three quarters.

Kyle Trush, Lovre Milos, Chris Swieca, Jared Osborn, Matt Skinner and Pablo Carballo scored single goals for the Anteaters (16-12).

Trush put UCI on the board with 4:16 remaining in the second quarter after Stanford had taken a 6-0 lead.

Bret Bonanni led the Cardinal with six goals while BJ Churnside, Adam Abdulhamid and Reid Chase added two each.
