THIS WEEK
● Seventh-ranked UC Irvine (9-2) joins 15 of the other top teams in the nation for the Kap7 SoCal Invitational Saturday and Sunday. Games will be played both days at Pepperdine's Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool and Loyola Marymount's Burns Aquatics Center.
● Coach Marc Hunt's 'Eaters open against host Pepperdine Saturday morning at 9:20 in Malibu. UCI will face either top-ranked UCLA or Pomona-Pitzer Saturday afternoon, also in Malibu.
● The games played at Pepperdine will be video streamed HERE.
LAST WEEK
● The 'Eaters opened Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play defeating "Black & Blue" rival Long Beach State, 6-5, at Anteater Aquatics Complex last Saturday afternoon. Senior Dylan Peterson had 19 saves in the cage and five different UCI players scored one goal each, with Matt Skinner's score in the third quarter with 52 seconds remaining proving to be the game-winner.
● Earlier last week, UCI topped UC San Diego, 17-8, in a non-conference game Thursday night as Kyle Trush, Lovre Milos and Matt Skinner scored three goals apiece.
BY THE NUMBERS
● Juniors Kyle Trush and Lovre Milos, with 22 and 21 goals, respectively, rank ninth and 11th in the MPSF. Trush has a scoring average of 2.00 goals per game to tie for ninth and Milos is averaging 1.91 goals.
● Seniors Pablo Carballo and Jared Osborn have scored 16 goals each, sophomore Matt Skinner 15, junior Antoine Lena 13, sophomore Ryan Warde 11 and freshman Jack Trush 10.
● Dylan Peterson, with 143 saves on the season, leads the MPSF with an average of 14.71 stops per game.
ON THE HORIZON
● Following this weekend's tournament, UCI returns to MPSF action on the road against fifth-ranked Pacific Oct. 17 and No. 4 California Oct. 18 in noon games.
