TUCSON, Ariz. --- Day two of the Arizona Kickoff Classic started out with a scrum of a match between UCI and No. 61 New Mexico with the Lobos outlasting the 'Eaters, 4-2.
Sebastian Heim kept his hot streak going with a straight-set win at No. 3 to give UCI (1-2) the early lead.
New Mexico (3-0) rallied back with wins at Nos. 2 and 4, but Nico Mertens enjoyed his first win of the season returning from a set down to take No. 1, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, and tie the match.
New Mexico would finish things off, however, with a gutty, three-set win at No. 5 before the straight-set dagger at No. 6 to solidify the victory.
