UC Irvine will host cross-county rival Cal State Fullerton Thursday (Jan. 15) at 7:00 p.m. in the Bren Events Center.
It is the lone game of the week for the Anteaters.
UC Irvine holds a slim 35-34 lead over the Titans in the series records. The teams split a pair of contests last year, each winning on their home courts.
The Anteaters took the last meeting with a 78-72 win on Mar. 6 in the Bren.
The Titans are 7-7 overall and 1-0 in the Big West.
CSF opened conference play with a 58-49 victory over UC Riverside, Chante Miles had a game-high 18 points and Samantha Logan grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds.
Miles leads the Titans and ranks second in the Big West with a 19.4 scoring average. She enters the contest scoring in double figures in 12 straight games.
UCI is 3-14 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
The Anteaters lost two road games last week, falling to Long Beach State (57-40) and UC Riverside (71-58).
UCI committed 47 turnovers over the last two games, while opponents had 26.
Against Long Beach State, senior Methlyn Onogomuho and sophomore Mokun Fajemisin led UCI with nine points each. Fajemisin also had three blocks and led all players with a career-high 15 rebounds.
UCI held a second half lead at Riverside, but was out-scored 22-7 in the final eight minutes.
The Anteaters out-rebounded UCR 39-27, the sixth time this season UCI has out-rebounded the opponent this season.
Sophomore guard Irene Chavez led UCI against the Highlanders with 19 points, hitting four three-pointers. Sophomore forward Brittany Glassow posted a career-high 15 rebounds.
Fajemisin, Glassow and Onogomuho have each pulled down 15 rebounds this season, which is the third most by a player in the Big West this year.
Fajemisin leads the squad and is ranked 12th in the Big West in scoring with a 11.5 average. The forward is fourth in the conference in rebounding (7.2) and blocks (1.35). In conference games only, Fajemisin ranks second in rebounds with an 11.5 mark.
Junior Raelyn Cheung-Sutton ranks fourth overall in assists (4.24) and third in assist/turnover ratio (1.47).
