- UC Irvine, 4-3 on the year, looks to continue the season with a second winning weekend with a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico to participate in the MCM Elegante Lobo Invitational.
- The Anteaters open the tournament against Bethune-Cookman and Montana State before facing the host Lobos Saturday.
- UCI's match against New Mexico will be video streamed through the Mountain West Conference and live stats for UCI's matches will also be provided by the Lobos.
- UCI collected its first win against Pepperdine since 1982 after posting a five-set victory Friday.
- The Anteaters also logged a season-best .382 hitting percentage in the win against Army.
ANDERSON, PICKRELL AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
- Shelley Anderson vaulted into the No. 3 spot in the nation with 314 total assists and she is 22nd with an 11.21 assist average.
- The sophomore totaled 50 or more assists in three of the four matches last week and totaled 206 to go along with 44 digs and five aces.
- The current Big West assist leader, Anderson broke into UC Irvine's career top 10 with 1,364 assists, uprooting Traci Webb (1990-91) and Mary Carls (2010-11), who posted 1,286 and 1,182, respectively.
- Cassidy Pickrell is fourth in the country and first in the Big West with 18 aces.
- Her .62 ace average is 16th in the country.
- Offensively, Pickrell averaged 4.00 kills per set and put away 72 kills go to along with 54 digs and 11 aces and was named to the UC Irvine Invitational All-Tournament team.
- The outside hitter is tied for tied for 25th in the country with Marisa Bubica with 101 total kills.
- Pickrell is fifth in the Big West with a 3.48 kill average.
BUBICA EARNS ALL-TOURNEY HONORS
- Marisa Bubica was also a UC Irvine Invitational All-Tournament team choice after averaging 4.43 kills per set.
- Bubica tucked away 62 kills in three matches and put up six blocks while picking up six digs.
- She climbed to second in the Big West with a 4.43 kill average is tied for first on the team with 101 kills.
- Bubica hit a season-best .455 against Pepperdine and has hit .300 or better in three matches this year.
- The redshirt junior sits sixth in the Big West with a .323 hitting percentage.
DENNIS, GEIGER GET CAREER-BESTS
- Victoria Dennis and Dani Geiger both recorded personal-bests last weekend.
- Dennis totaled a career-high 13 kills while hitting .385 against Army.
- Geiger led UCI with 13 total blocks in action last week, including posting a career-high seven block assists against Utah State.
- She also chipped in a season-high eight kills against the Aggies.
- Geiger leads the team with a .81 blocking average and has 20 kills on the year.
DAVIS CLIMBS TO FOURTH
- Arden Davis was the team's defensive stalwart, picking up 80 digs and firing a career-high three aces to help UCI to a 3-1 week.
- The sophomore is fourth in the Big West with a 4.14 dig average and is just one of two conference players who has reached triple digits in kills this year.
- Davis totaled 20 or more digs in three of the four matches, including recording a season-high 23 in the effort against Utah State.
HUNGRY WILDCATS
- Bethune-Cookman is 0-7 with the Wildcats looking for their first win of the season.
- Rhea Simon leads the team, averaging 3.68 kills per set and is tied for first with seven aces.
- The Anteaters and Wildcats will face off for the first time this weekend.
HELLO AGAIN
- UCI and Montana State will meet for the first time in 31 years.
- The last time the two teams battled was in 1983 when volleyball used side-out scoring and teams played to 15.
- Montana State is 2-4 overall.
- Loni Kreun leads MSU with a 2.43 kill average and 56 kills.
- Kasey Schlatter owns a 4.00 dig average for the team-high.
LOOKING AT THE LOBOS
- New Mexico is 2-4 on the year after dropping all three matches last weekend.
- The team is led by Chantale Riddle, who has 58 kills and a 2.90 average.
- Riddle is also the team's blocking leader, boasting a 1.60 average and 32 total blocks.
- Saturday's meeting will be just the second between the two schools.
- The Anteaters and Lobos first faced off in 2011 with UCI falling 3-2.
