• The Anteaters (1-2) hosts the UC Irvine Tournament and takes on former Big West member, Idaho, in the home opener Friday at 12:30 PM.
• The Anteaters then face Pepperdine at 7:30 p.m. in the evening session before closing out tournament action Saturday against Utah State, also a former Big West member, at 2:00 p.m.
• UCI will play Army Sunday at 11:00 a.m. in a single match

ACES HIGH

• UC Irvine recorded a 24-17 ace advantage last weekend and is led by Cassidy Pickrell, who fired seven and leads the Big West Conference with a .64 average.
• Allison Lee is second in the conference after the first weekend with six service winners and Arden Davis fired five to claim the No. 4 spot among the Big West leaders.
• Both Pickrell and Lee tied personal-bests with three aces in a single match.
• Davis also recorded three aces in a match against Cincinnati, a new career-high for the sophomore.
• UCI's 24 aces top the conference with UC Davis in second with 17.

BUBICA, LEE LEAD ANTEATERS

• Marisa Bubica and Allison Lee sit at the top of the Anteater stats after combining for  75 kills after the first weekend.
• Bubica edges Lee with 39 kills and a 3.55 average and is currently fifth in the Big West. Lee has totaled 36 kills with a 3.27 average and is eighth in the league.
• Lee is second on the team in digs with 30 and aces with six.

MANZ, MODEL OF EFFICIENCY

• Arielle Manz has jumped into the No. 2 spot in the Big West with an impressive .419 hitting percentage.
• The middle blocker hit better than .300 in two of the three matches and blasted a .524 hitting percentage against Duquesne after putting away 11 kills in 21 attempts with no errors.

ANDERSON GRABS FOUR SPOT

• Shelley Anderson is fourth in the Big West with a 9.82 assist average and has handed out 108 assists this year.
• The sophomore gave the Anteaters an all-around solid performance, posting 21 digs and 11 kills while hitting .333.
• Anderson hit .500 against the Bearctas, putting away six of 10 attempts with just one miscue.

IDAHO INFO

• Idaho is 1-2 on the year after falling to Oklahoma and No. 10 Florida before bouncing back with a win over Georgia Southern.
• The Vandals are led by Katelyn Peterson, who is averaging 3.30 kills per set and is third in digs at 2.20.
• Terra Varney tops the team in digs at 3.80 while Stephanie Hagins paces the team with 10 total blocks.
• The last time UC Irvine met Idaho in conference action was in 2004 but the two sides suited  up for single matches in 2010 and 2011.
• The Anteaters swept Idaho in 2010 but were swept in 2011 and trail 11-7 in the all-time series records. 

WAVE CHART

• Pepperdine opened the season at 2-1 after securing wins against South Alabama and Nevada.
• The Waves are paced by Jillian Bergeson, who has 41 kills on the season and is averaging 3.42 per set.
• Samantha Cash owns a team-high six service aces while Becca Strehlow is manning the back-row with a 3.08 dig average.
• UCI has not fared well against Pepperdine and trails 12-1 in the series annals.
• The two teams last met in 2000 with the Waves  dousing the Anteaters in three sets.
• The Anteaters' lone win was back in 1982, a 3-1 decision at UCI.

• Utah State is also 1-2, defeating Idaho State before falling to Oregon State and Saint Mary's.
• The Aggies are led by Rachel Orr's 3.69 kill average.
• Paige Neves touts a 1.62 block average and has accumulated 21 total blocks to lead Utah State to a 2.73 team average.
• Ashlan Court-Rogers boasts a 6.46 dig average and already has 84 digs on the year.
• UCI defeated Utah State in the two teams' last meeting in 2011 and the Anteaters have captured four straight from the Aggies to lead the series 21-9.  

• Army is 2-2 on the year with wins over Bryan and UMass-Lowell, and losses to St. John's and Towson.
• Carolyn Bockrath has recorded 41 kills and is averaging 2.93 per set while Vanessa Edwards is leading the team in aces with nine.
• Sunday's meeting will be the first between the Anteaters and Army.
