- UC Irvine plays four road matches this week, making trips to Ypsilanti and Rochester, Michigan.
- The Anteaters take on Eastern Michigan in a single match Thursday and then play in the Golden Grizzlies Invitational Friday and Saturday.
- UCI's trip to Michigan will be the final tournament tune-up prior to the Big West Conference opener.
- UCI tops the Big West Conference in hitting percentage (.264), assists (13.15) and kills (14.23).
- The Anteaters are also second in aces at 1.51 and third in digs with a 15.08 average.
- Shelley Anderson remains the conference leader with a 10.83 assist average.
BUBICA, DAVIS VOTED ALL-TOURNAMENT
- Marisa Bubica and Arden Davis were both named to the MCM Elegante Lobo Invitational.
- Bubica, who picks up her second all-tournament award this year, averaged 3.71 kills per set while hitting .316.
- The outside hitter led the team with 15 kills in the effort against New Mexico and hit .289.
- Bubica is fifth in the Big West with a .322 hitting percentage and is third with a 4.14 points-per-set average.
- Davis anchored the defense, posting a team-leading 47 digs and averaged 4.70 per set to earn the spot on her first all-tournament team.
- Davis is holding fast in third in the conference with a 4.28 dig average and is 55th in the nation in total digs with 167.
ANDERSON CONTINUE TO CLIMB UCI RECORDS
- Shelley Anderson saw action in two of the three matches last week and posted 65 assists, climbing up one spot to ninth in the UCI career records.
- Anderson has dished out 1,429 assists and took over the spot held by Christa Conom (2004-06), who logged 1,420.
- Anderson put away six of eight attempts against Montana State and recorded her fifth double-double match of the year with 31 assists and 11 digs against the Lobos.
PICKRELL TOPS BIG WEST
- Cassidy Pickrell leads the Big West in total aces with 19 and is 21st in the nation.
- Her .49 ace average is third in the conference and 45th in the country.
- Pickrell also paces UCI in total kills with 129 and is second with a 3.31 average.
- The sophomore boasted an errorless match against Montana State, putting away nine of 24 attempts for a .375 percentage, her second-best clip this year.
LEE LEADS ANTEATERS IN ALBUQUERQUE
- Allison Lee led UCI with 32 kills in three matches last week and tied for second with 30 digs.
- The senior posted a team-leading eight block assists in the three contests to go along with a pair of aces.
- She hit .444 in the win against Montana State, knocking down 13 kills with a lone error in 27 attempts.
DENNIS THE MENACE
- Victoria Dennis hit a career-best 17 kills and a blistering .406 against Bethune-Cookman last week.
- The redshirt sophomore is averaging 2.82 kills per set for the team.
BLAIR STEPS IN WITH PERSONAL-BEST
- Freshman Emily Blair led the offense against Bethune-Cookman and posted a career-high 37 assists in the win.
- The setter also picked up three digs and added a block assist in the victory.
SOARING EAGLES
- Eastern Michigan is 7-2 overall and is riding a four-game win streak.
- In that four-match span, the Eagles have not dropped a set.
- EMU is led by Katie Krasowki, who is averaging 2.80 kills and is second on the team with a .66 blocking average.
- UCI and EMU met once in 2005 with the Anteaters emerging with a 3-1 win.
ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS
- Robert Morris is looking to improve on a 1-9 record this weekend.
- The team is paced by Arden Fisher, who has put away 61 kills and is averaging 2.26 per set.
- UCI will meet the Colonials for the first time in program history this Friday.
ABOUT BOWLING GREEN
- Bowling Green is 2-7 on the season and has dropped the last three contests.
- The team is led by Nicole Slimko, who is averaging 2.39 kills and is the Falcon's go-to player with 122 kills.
- Saturday's match will the first between the two teams.
GRILLING THE GRIZZLIES
- Oakland climbed to 6-5 on the year after snapping a three-match losing stream with four straight wins.
- Melissa Deatsch is the team's top player with 120 kills and a 2.86 average.
- UCI and Oakland met for the first time in 2012 with the Anteaters sweeping the Golden Grizzlies at the Kansas State Tournament.
