IRVINE, Calif. --- Bhuvan Potluri, who recently completed his junior season with the UC Irvine men's golf team, has been named a 2014 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Potluri had a 75.20 stroke average for the 'Eaters this past season with a top finish of 11th in the Anteater Invitational. He placed 39th at the Big West Conference Championship.
A graduate of Woodbridge High School in Irvine, Potluri is majoring in business information management at UCI.
He is a two-time UCI Scholar-Athlete and was a member of the Big West Academic All-Conference team for spring sports this past year.
