Meet Day Results
IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine sophomore Melanie Speech competes in the heptathlon at the Big West Conference Multi-Event Championships Friday and Saturday at UC Davis.
The heptathlon begins Friday at 1:00 p.m. with competition in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meters at Toomey Field and Woody Wilson Track in Davis.
Saturday's action also begins at 1:00 p.m. with the long jump, followed by the javelin throw and 800 meters.
Speech (San Francisco/Lowell HS) posted a career-best total of 4,602 points in the heptathlon at the UC Riverside Spring Classic Invitational in March.
She is one of 15 women entered in this weekend's heptathlon. Speech finished 10th in her first heptathlon at last year's Big West Multi-Event Championships.
UCI will also have student-athletes competing at the Oxy Invitational this Saturday.
