IRVINE, Calif. --- Sixth-ranked UC Irvine finished the regular season in style with a 13-4 victory over No. 12 LMU Friday night at Anteater Aquatics Complex.

The teams were square early on as the Anteaters (22-7, 5-0) held a 2-1 lead after one period. UCI opened up the scoring with a 4-0 second period and 5-1 third period powered by senior Jessy Cardey who led all scorers with three goals.

LMU (19-12) were blanked for over 16 minutes including a penalty shot save by Jillian Yocum, one of her six on the match.

The seniors combined for six of the goals and assisted on six more. Michaela Pierandozzi managed to earn a pair of exclusions, and Annika Bergesen produced a steal and field block on the defensive end.

UCI now prepares for the Big West Tournament that begins on Saturday, Apr. 25 for the 'Eaters in the semifinals for a 1:30 p.m. against the winner of the preliminary round match between LBSU and UCSB.
