IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine returned home to Southern California to the Costa Mesa Tennis Center where the Lions of LMU dropped them, 5-2, Wednesday morning.

The Anteaters (10-15, 0-3) took the initial doubles set from the duo of Jonathan Hammel and Tyler Pham, 8-5, but were upended in the other two doubles matches giving LMU (14-9) the opening point.

Jonathan Poon fought back with a straight-set singles win, but LMU scored four straight-set singles wins to clinch the match. Rafael Davidian came back from down a set to win at No. 4 singles in three sets to give the Anteaters their second point.

UCI returns to Anteater Tennis Stadium for an afternoon Big West match against UC Riverside Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
