OFF THE TEE
UC Irvine will compete at the 2014 Big West Women's Golf Championship Sunday-Tuesday (Apr. 13-15) at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
Play begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
The par-73 course measures 6,196 yards with five par-5's, nine par-4's and four par-3's.
UC Irvine joins Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Hawaii, Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Riverside in the race for the Big West title.
The Anteaters are paired with Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge on Sunday teeing off at 8:10 a.m.
Second round action begins at 9:00 a.m. Monday and concludes Tuesday with tee times starting at 7:30 a.m.
Kaley In, Sara Banke, Ronnie Valerio, Taryn Yee and Samantha Chan will compete for the Anteaters.
Senior Ronnie Valerio placed fifth a year ago with a score of 226 (76-74-76)
The team placed third at last year's event with a three-round score of 922 (311-307-304).
The winning team advances to the NCAA Division I women's regionals which are held at three sites, including the West Regional at Tumble Creek at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Washington, from May 8-10. Oklahoma State and Florida State will host the other two regionals.
UCI has won five Big West Championships (2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2002).
Three Anteaters (Stella Lee '02, Selanee' Henderson '06, Kim Lorenzana '08) have caputure the individual crown at the Championships.

IN THE CLUBHOUSE
The Anteaters are coming off a sixth place finish at The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance at the Yorba Linda Country Club. UCI shot a three-round total of 926 (300-314-312).
Freshman Kaley In led UCI with a 17th place finish, carding a 230 (75-78-77).
In tops the squad with a 75.88 scoring average over 17 rounds this season.
