UC Irvine returns to action competing at the Second Annual Black & Blue Rivalry match against Long Beach State on Thursday (Mar. 13) beginning at 1:45 p.m. at the Old Ranch Country Club.
Old Ranch Country Club plays at par-72 and 6,016 yards.
The teams will play an 18-hole duel match featuring six players and counting five.
The Anteater lineup features Ronnie Valerio, Sara Banke, Kaley In, Samantha Chan, Taryn Yee and Brenna Carlson
Last year, Long Beach State beat UCI 304-309 at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club. Ronnie Valerio shot a 76 to lead the Anteaters. Brenna Carlson recorded a 78, while Sara Banke had a score of 81. Tayrn Yee played as an individual and shot an 84.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
UCI is coming off an eighth place finish at the UC Irvine Invitational presented by Kia at the Santa Ana Country Club.
UC Irvine shot a 54-hole score of 922 (306-310-306) and was led by senior Ronnie Valerio in 27th place with a two day score of 230 (76-76-78).
Freshman Kaley In had the team's best round, pacing the Anteaters with an even par 72 on the final 18 holes to finish in 36th position with a score of 232 (83-77-72).
Stanford's Mariah Stackhouse claimed medalist honors with a four-under 212 (70-69-73) and earned the sponsor exemption to the Kia Classic Mar. 27-30 at the Aviara Golf Club.
