PALO ALTO, Calif. --- The Anteaters served up a stellar first quarter accompanied by solid defense throughout to defeat UC Davis, 11-4, Saturday afternoon in the Stanford Invitational.

UCI (6-0) scored five of its tallies in the first period jumping out to the 5-1 lead. The lead steadily grew as the game went on as UC Irvine allowed just one goal per period to the Aggies.

McKenna Mitchell drained four goals, and Hillary Estrada and Hanna Lancaster added a pair of their own. Jillian Yocum posted nine saves in the win.

UCI will put its undefeated mark on the line with a matchup against the host Cardinal, ranked second in the nation, at 8:00 a.m. Sunday.
