UCI Closes 2014 At TCU; Opens 2015 Hosting Concordia

UC Irvine will close out 2014 traveling to TCU Tuesday (Dec. 30) for a 5:00 p.m. PT game at the University Recreation Center..
This will be the fourth meeting with TCU all-time with the Anteaters holding a 2-1 lead.
UCI won the last two meetings, including a 76-67 victory on Dec.1, 1995 at the Bren Center.
After battling the Horned Frogs, UCI will entertain Irvine neighbor Concordia to start 2015 on Sunday (Jan. 4) at 4:00 p.m. in the Bren Events Center.
UCI beat Concordia 81-70 at the Bren to begin the 2013-14 season .
Both of UCI's wins this season have come on a Sunday.
These are the final two regular season non-conference games. The Anteaters will travel to Long Beach State on Jan. 8 and UC Riverside Jan. 10 to open Big West action.
UCI snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 63-55 victory over Denver in the final game of the BTI Invitational hosted by Purdue.
Mokun Fajemisin was named to the all-tournament team after recording 20 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Denver. For the tournament, Fajemisin averaged 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Sophomore Shereen Sutherland had a solid tournament, averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over three games. She set a career-high with 18 points in the win over Denver, sparking UCI's comeback with 16 coming in the second period.
Raelyn Cheung-Sutton had her best performance as an Anteater versus the Pioneers with nine points, nine assists and six rebounds, all career-bests.
After recording 18 three-pointers over the first nine games of the season, the Anteaters drained 16 in the last four outings. Sophomore Jenny Dee tops the squad with 12.
UCI lost to Purdue (69-44) and Wright State (80-42) in the tournament before beating Denver.
