- UC Irvine looks to snap a two-game losing streak this week at Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara.
- The team recorded a season-high 104 digs in a five-set epic match against Hawaii last week.
- The Anteaters are 5-4 and tied for fourth in the Big West with CSUN.
- The third and fourth-best teams in the Big West in aces take the court this Saturday.
- UCSB is third in the league at 1.35 aces per set with UCI at No. 4 (1.34) but the Anteaters hold the edge in total aces with a 121-101 advantage.
DAVIS DIGS CAREER BEST
- Arden Davis recorded a career-high 31 digs in the five-set match against Hawaii and with the effort, climbed into the top spot in the Big West with a dig average of 4.56.
- Davis, who surpassed her previous best of 28 digs recorded last year, has amassed 410 digs in 2014.
- The sophomore has registered double-figure digs in all but two matches.
LEE MOVES TO SECOND IN ACES
- Allison Lee has fired 37 aces this season and climbed up one spot in the Big West to second with a .41 average.
- The senior had an ace apiece in each of the matches last week and is the conference leader in total aces.
- Sitting in second with 35 aces on the year is Cassidy Pickrell, who is fourth in the Big West with a .39 average.
- Lee is second on the team with 281 kills and digs with 296.
- Lee also is third in total blocks with 47 after tying a career-high with four block assists against Hawaii.
YODER WITH SEASON-HIGH
- Molly Yoder put in a solid performance in the back row for the Anteaters last week.
- The defensive specialist had 10 digs against San Diego State and then registered a season-high 17 against Hawaii.
- Yoder's previous best this year was a 13-dig effort recorded against Long Beach State and in the first match-up against the Rainbow Wahine.
- Yoder has picked up double-digit digs in seven matches this year.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES FOR PICKRELL
- Cassidy Pickrell posted two double-double matches last week and now has 10 on the year.
- The outside hitter averaged a team-leading 3.38 kills last week, totaling 27.
- She also had 26 digs, averaging 3.25 per set.
- Pickrell had 11 kills and 10 digs against SDSU and followed that performance with 16 kills and 16 digs against Hawaii.
- Pickrell remains third in the Big West in kill average and is also third in points per set at 4.26.
MANZ, ROSENFELD TOPS TEAM IN BLOCKS
- Arielle Manz and Ella Rosenfeld combined for 10 total blocks in two matches last week.
- Manz had two block assists against the Aztecs and then tacked on three against Hawaii.
- The senior increased her career total to 229 block assists and has a firm grasp on the No. 10 spot in the UCI annals.
- Rosenfeld totaled two solo stuffs and three block assists against the 'Bows and leads the team with 50 total blocks on the year.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
- UCI is ranked 31st in the country in kills per set at 13.91 and 34th in assist average at 12.94.
- The Anteaters are also 37th dig average (16.50) and 55th with a .247 hitting percentage.
- Allison Lee jumped to 26th in the nation in total aces (37) with Cassidy Pickrell sitting at No. 45 (35).
- Lee and Pickrell are 36th and 49th in ace average with a .41 and .39 average, respectively.
- Shelley Anderson is 34th in assist average (11.00) and Marisa Bubica ranked 55th in kill average (4.01).
- Arden Davis is 75th in dig average (4.56).
ABOUT THE MUSTANGS
- Cal Poly is 8-12 overall and 3-7 in the Big West to sit seventh in the conference standings.
- The Mustangs have dropped five of the last six matches with their last win, a 3-2 victory, coming against UC Riverside.
- Raeann Greisen leads the team with 260 kills and is second with 14 aces.
- UCI handed Cal Poly a 3-0 loss earlier this year but still trails 39-22 in the all-time series.
ABOUT THE GAUCHOS
- UC Santa Barbara is 10-11 overall and at 5-5 in the Big West, is a game-behind the Anteaters in sixth place.
- Ali Barbeau is the team leader in kills with 192 and a 2.56 average.
- UCI defeated the Gauchos 3-2 earlier this year to record just its 10th win (67-10) against UCSB.
