2014-15 Player Capsule: Methlyn Onogomuho
BY THE NUMBERS
496 – Over the last three years, the forward has pulled down 496 rebounds. She ranked sixth in the Big West last year with a 6.7 rebound average.
39.67 – The average number of steals she has snatched every year. The senior has lead the team in steals every year.
10 – In 2010-11, she became the 10th player in UCI history to be named to the Big West All-Freshman Team. She garnered the honor after leading the league in offensive rebounds (3.06) and ranking ninth overall in rebounding average (6.4).
A CLOSER LOOK
One of the most athletic players to ever come through the UCI program. The forward must be a consistent scorer and rebounder as well as the team's top perimeter defender this season. She is the team's top returnee after averaging 7.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season, which ranked third and second on squad respectively. Her experience and basketball ability will play a huge part in the team's success.
FROM THE TONGUE
"I'm looking forward to becoming a leader and leaving my heart on the floor this year. Hopefully the younger players can look up to my effort and carry it on. I'm also looking forward to the the progress we make after losing seven seniors."
