BUBICA BACK IN THE GAME
- After being sidelined for three matches, Marisa Bubica returned to the starting lineup against Cal Poly and led UCI to a 3-1 win.
- The outside hitter put away 18 kills and hit .341, committing just three errors on the night.
- She returned the next night against UC Santa Barbara and knocked down 16 kills while totaling a season-high five blocks.
- Her four block assists against UCSB tied a season-high.
- Bubica is second in the Big West with a 4.04 kill average, 10th in hitting (.292) and second in points at 4.31.
MANZ POSTS SEASON'S THIRD-BEST PERCENTAGE
- Arielle Manz did not commit an error offensively against the Gauchos and put away 11 of 18 attempts to hit .611, her third-best hitting percentage of the season.
- The middle blocker also tied a season-high with five total blocks against UCSB, posting a solo block and four block assists.
- Hitting .517 in two matches, Manz jumped from eighth to fifth in the Big West with a .329 hitting percentage.
ROSENFELD BLOCKS SEASON-HIGH
- Ella Rosenfeld helped UCI to a 10-4 advantage in team blocks against Cal Poly with a season-best six total blocks.
- Posting a solo block and five block assists in the win, Rosenfeld's previous high were a pair of five-block efforts against Hawaii and Robert Morris.
- Rosenfeld leads the team with 58 blocks and is averaging .76 per set.
- In Big West-only matches, she is averaging .86 per set.
BLAIR ADDS SPARK OFF BENCH
- Emily Blair saw action against UC Santa Barbara and recorded a career-high three block assists.
- The setter also dished out 18 assist and scooped up four digs while firing her first ace of the year.
- On the season, Blair has 126 assists to go along with 18 digs and seven blocks in 18 sets played.
LEE ADDS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
- Allison Lee recorded her 13th double-double of the year, logging 11 kills and 15 digs against Cal Poly.
- Lee then added five kills and 13 digs the next night against the Gauchos.
- The senior is 10th in the Big West in kills (3.05) and digs (3.31).
- Lee is also tied for third with Cassidy Pickrell with a .38 ace average.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
- Nationally, the Anteaters are ranked 42nd in kill average (13.79) and are also in the top 50 in assists, coming in at No. 49 (12.84).
- UCI is 54th in hitting (.246) and is 65th in digs (16.15).
- Lee and Pickrell are 45th in the country in total aces with 37 apiece and are tied at No. 55 in service ace average.
- Shelley Anderson is 44th in assist average (10.84) while Bubica is 50th in kill average
ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS
- UC Riverside is 2-21 on the year and is 0-11 in the Big West Conference.
- The team is led by Alex Greshman, who has 193 kills on the year.
- Bri Holmes tops the team with a 2.70 kill average.
- UCI beat the Highlanders earlier this year, 3-0 and are 29-12 against UCR in the series records.
ABOUT THE AGGIES
- UC Davis is 25-17 overall and sit in third place with an 8-3 record.
- The Aggies are riding a three-match win streak and have won nine of the last 12 contests.
- The team is led by Kaylin Squyres, who is averaging 4.12 kills and has totaled 375 this year.
- Squyres is also the Big West leader in points with 426 and is averaging 4.68.
- The Anteaters swept the Aggies last month and improve to 14-7 all-time in the series records.
