
'Eaters Take on No. 2 Stanford in MPSF Road Game

UCI CONTINUES MPSF ACTION SATURDAY
● Ninth-ranked UC Irvine, 10-3 overall and 0-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, travels to No. 2 Stanford (10-1, 0-0) for an MPSF game Saturday morning at 10:30 on the Pac-12 Networks.
● UCI opened MPSF play last Saturday morning, falling 17-9 to top-ranked UCLA on the road.
● Saturday marks UCI's 14th consecutive game away from home to start the season. The Anteaters are playing their first 18 games outside of Irvine before opening their home schedule against Pacific Oct. 18 at 12:00 p.m.
● Tenth-year head coach Marc Hunt's UCI team competes in the SoCal Tournament Oct. 11-12 at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Complex.
UCI TEAM NOTES
● Sophomore Lovre Milos leads UCI with 58 goals on the season. Milos, a transfer from UCLA, leads the MPSF in scoring at 4.46 goals per game. He scored the game-winning goal in sudden-death overtime in the 12-11 win over Pepperdine Sept. 21 at the NorCal Classic. He has scored at least five goals in eight games this season. Milos was the season's first Kap7 MPSF Player of the Week (Sept. 8) after scoring 23 goals in four games at the season-opening Triton Invitational in La Jolla. He scored a season-high eight goals in the 17-7 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Sept. 6.
● Senior Jacob Mourer has 28 goals for the season. He ranks 11th in the MPSF with a scoring average of 2.15 goals per game. Mourer has scored 109 goals in his Anteater career.
● Freshman Matt Skinner has scored 22 goals this season, including a team-high three in last Saturday's loss to UCLA. The Australian native ranks 24th in the MPSF with a scoring average of 1.69 goals per game.
● Sophomore Kyle Trush has scored 16 goals for the 'Eaters this season. He is the team's leading returning scorer from last season when he scored 35 as a true freshman.
● Other double-digit scorers for UCI this season are senior Alan Robertson (11 goals) and junior Jared Osborn (10).
● Junior goalie Dylan Peterson has started 11 games this season and has recorded 95 saves. He ranks second in the MSPF with an average of 12.35 saves per game. Peterson was a redshirt at Pacific in the 2011 season before transferring to UCI.
● True freshman goalie Byron Rivers ranks first in the MPSF with an average of 13.57 saves per game. He had a season-high 15 saves in the 12-11, sudden-death overtime win over Pepperdine at the NorCal Classic Sept. 21. Rivers had 427 saves in 28 games at El Toro High School last year.
