'Eaters Compete at Highlander Invitational Saturday

IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine competes in the Highlander Invitational at Riverside Saturday with the men's 6,000-meter race scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. on the UCR Agricultural Operations Course.

The 'Eaters finished second in the 25th annual Vanguard Invitational last Saturday as sophomore Isaiah Thompson won the individual title with a time of 24:51.4 over 8,000 meters at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.  He was named Big West Conference Athlete of the Week for his achievement.

After Saturday's meet, UCI competes in the Titan Invitational at Fullerton next Friday (Oct. 24) before returning to Riverside for the Big West Conference Championship Nov. 1.
