SoCal Tournament Central
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Jared Osborn poured in five goals to catapult No. 9 UC Irvine past St. Francis Brooklyn, 15-7, in the SoCal Tournament at Spieker Aquatics Center Saturday afternoon.
Osborn scored three times in the second quarter to key a run of seven straight goals that led to a 10-3 lead on a power-play goal by Jacob Mourer with 3:53 left in the third period.
Lovre Milos added three goals for the 'Eaters (11-5) while Ryan Warde and Alan Robertson scored two apiece.
"It was a good rebound off this morning's tough loss," Anteaters' head coach Marc Hunt said.
"We must maintain our focus on defense. That's the key to the team's development as we move into the bulk of our conference games.
"Osborn had some very good offensive plays and strong goals."
UCI faces Pepperdine Sunday morning at 10:50 in the consolation bracket at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center on the UCLA campus.
